[baseten-users] Latency of Automatic Updates?

Hi,

We're considering using BaseTen for an application that will be run on a local LAN with 15-20 wired and wireless (802.11n) clients.

One of the major attractions of BaseTen for us is the line "Database changes are propagated to clients automatically, without polling"

In a system running in the configuration mentioned above, what kind of latency would we be looking at? In other words, once a change is made to the Postgres DB, on average, how long would it take for the changes to be propagated to all connected clients? Will it take longer to allow BaseTen to propagate its changes than it would to send strings via TCP? Is there any way to prioritize the propagation of changes?

Thanks.

Brad
