Hi Jianhua -- I'm sorry about the problems you've run into with
BaseTen. We've done significant progress since the release of 1.6.2,
and I urge you, as well as any other developer, to use the trunk while
developing new code. A simple way to use the latest BaseTen revision
is to check for the automatically built disk images at http://basetenframework.org/autobuilds/
-- if a build exists for a given revision, it means that that
revision passed all the unit tests.
Typically, if a trunk revision passes all of our tests, it's the best
BaseTen version we know. We don't have much of a BaseTen QA/release
engineering process outside of the unit test suite. As such, if the
BaseTen trunk passes our tests but fails with your code, it is a
problem we need to work together to solve. In all likelihood the
problem won't go away by itself, so reverting back to a previous
version and waiting the problem out is not a good strategy.
With regards to the other issues you described, enough has changed in
the code base that we'd rather solve the problems you are having with
the trunk than debug the specific Assistant and/or BaseTen schema
issues you encountered with 1.6.2. You'll at least find the dump/load
problems resolved in the current revision.
Thanks again for your patience with this, and for continuing to use
BaseTen!
Marko
